As I said in my last entry I am willing to share my links to blogposts. I can't cross posts and copying and pasting here is just too much work. But linking here works a whole lot better.
If you'd like to keep seeing these here then let me know. Also if you want to discuss anything, here is fine as well.

Dancing Out of May 2017

Every month I post a wrap up of the books I've read, how things are going with some of my goals, what I watched and how I have been doing. This month I had a great reading month for me.

Diverse Books I Recently Added To My Wishlist a.k.a Goodreads
Every Tuesday I participate in the Top Ten Tuesday which is a weekly meme. We get a topic each week to make a list about. For this week I decided to focus on diverse book as diversity is such an important topic in the book community at the moment.

Every Heart a Doorway (Waywards Children 1) by Seanan McGuire

Every Heart a Doorway is a novella that tells the story of those kids that return back to Earth after having gone through a portal to another world. What happens to those kids that don't get to stay in the new world?

Bloodfever (Fever 2) by Karen Marie Moning
The second Fever book I read incredibly quickly. Unfortunately I thought there were unnessecary triggers in this book like rape. In my review you can find a link to my review of the first book as well.

Books Ever After Secret Summer Swap
On Goodreads I am apart of the Dutch Goodreads group Books Ever After and for this Summer I participated in a secret summer swap. Here you can see the unboxing of my package! And it was great.

Bookshelf Tour 2017 - Part 1
Every year I show my bookshelves on my blog. To see how they change over time. This year the tour is divided in 5 parts!

Bookish Gift Ideas for the Non-Reading Father
Father's Day was this June. Both my own father and my husband are not very big readers. For that reason I made this list.

Ewan Pendle and the White Wraith by Shaun Hume
Ewan Pendle is considered a bit weird. Until he is shipped away to a new school where everyone can see what he sees. Monsters!

Locke & Key (volume 1 to 6) by Joe Hill
Locke & Key is a graphic novel that focuses on the Locke family that has just moved to the key house with their uncle after a traumatising event.

Hello Ebooks in My 2017 Read Pile
I have also been more of a phsycial book reader. But this year I have been reading more and more ebooks.

I finally did something I should have done a while ago, and that was cutting into my friend list. It was a harsh one. I started with 60 mutuals and I cut it down to 25. Now a lot of those were dead accounts. But there were still some active ones. If you are expecting a personal note, I'm sorry I don't do that. It all boils down to one thing. We did not have a connection.

So it's been a while since I made a bookish entry here. I have a book blog where I blog about books a few times a week so I don't feel the need to talk about books as much anymore, but I figured a bit of an update would be nice since we are nearing the 3 month mark into this year.

At the start of the year I challenged myself to read 120 books. But with being pregnant and being very distracted from reading I noticed very quickly that I wasn't going to get to that. So I moved it down to 90 books. I'm still 5 books behind though. This sucks because I do want to read more. I feel like I read so little at the moment. And it is hard choosing books. But now there is no more work to swallow up my time I think I can read a bit more. So I have read about 15 books so far this year.

One of my favorite books I read this year so far was Paaz by Myrthe van der Meer, a Dutch author. It's a psychiatric fiction book so it is very different than what I usually read (fantasy), but it was also very relatable. It was heavy, but also funny. It was a good book. Only 5 star book so far this year.

Another book I loved was The Kingdom, the second book of The Graveyard Queen series by Amanda Stevens. I loved the idea of the first book but wasn't impressed by the execution. But I loved this second book and I'm glad I've continued with it. It goes more into her background and I loved that. The Graveyard Queen is a paranormal detective with a cemetary restorer as the main character.

One book I did not finish was the third book from The Maze Runner series. After rating the second book 1 star this book was even worse for me. After 100 pages or so I just gave up.

In a week and a half Flamecaster is coming out! It is the first book of The Shattered Realms series by Cinda Williams Chima. It is set in the same world as her Seven Realms series that I loved so I am super excited about it. The Demon King (first book of the Seven Realms) is one of my favorite books.
Right now I'm reading The Warrior Heir, another book by this author. This book was released a few years before The Demon King and it is noticable she's grown a lot since then.

What has been your favorite book so far this year? And what book could you absolutely not finish this year so far?

If you haven't yet, please add me on Goodreads. I'm faily active there with the app.
My book blog you can find here.

13. Favorite Genre

I would think it was obvious by now that Fantasy is my favorite genre. I rarely read anything else. High fantasy, urban fantasy, all good. It sparks my own imagination. Everything goes and I love being amazed by other people's imaginations on world building and magic systems. It is also easier for me to be completely drawn into the world.

This April has been a pretty good reading month. Last month I have read 14 books which is a lot more than the previous months. And before there were also novella's. This month not. These were all full books, and some quite big so I am quite pleased with myself, haha. Even The Complete Sherlock Holmes, which I had started last year, I still read 717 pages of in April.

Some books are hard to write reviews for though, like The Graveyard Book and Ptolemy's Gate so I haven't really. I loved them both. And please, please, please go read the Bartimaeus sequence by Jonathan Stroud. I love that series so much and it deserves so much more attention. I love these characters with a passion. I did write a review for De Erfenis van Richard Grenville on Goodreads. But this is by a Dutch author and it is not translated. I can say that I really enjoyed it though and that I do recommend it to all Dutch fantasy readers.

I do have quite the stack for April I'd like to get to, with one reread. There is another read-a-thon on Tumblr for 10 days, and at the end of the month there is also Dewey's 24 hour Read-a-thon.

Hello, and welcome to this first book entry of 2015! A slightly different set-up. But all the reviews will still be put under cuts.

I don't think I've mentioned any of my reading goals here on LJ. I have a few. Some are very achievable. Others might be a bit harder. But I like to work towards something.
- Read 100 books. This in general means about 8-9 books a month, 2 books per week.
- Read more by Dutch Authors. One a month. Twelve in total 2015.
- Over on my Book Tumblr I'd like to be more consistent in writing my Top Ten Tuesday and Top Five Wednesday posts. I would also like there to be more substance.
- Finish completed series you currently own. Examples are: Divergent, A Song of Ice and Fire, Vampire Academy, The Mortal Instruments, The Iron Fey, Heroes of Olympus
- Give a go at the 2015 Ultimate Reading Challenge. If you haven't seen it yet, here it is.

Last of this year :) I'll make another entry near the end of the year with some lists of all the books I've read (including some of the rereads I'll hopefully have done by then), but also movies and tv shows. I'll link to all book entries then too, I think.

I deem all books I review that are next books in a series with spoilers in the cut title as it is bound to spoil for the first book.

Once again, a little late. I´ve been thinking of these entries. Would you guys prefer to see each book separate as I finish it or keep them per month? It doesn't really matter to me. :)

The Reaper Man (spoilers) )

The Crimson Crown (possible spoilers for Seven Realms series) )

The Seven Realms as a whole series is certainly a great read. I fell in love with the characters and some of the historic events of their world. Every time I read about them, it is like meeting up with old friends. It is a fantasy series that has magic, but also some political intrigues, marketed as a young adult.

Comment here to be added or send me a message.

As a rule I cut Lj's who haven't updated in over a year. Otherwise the mutual list clutters so, especially as I've had a lot of people who added me and then remained inactive. However if any of those Lj-ers return, feel free to send me a message if you would like to try and be lj friends again.

(Goodreads apparently counts manga and short prequel stories too, oh well)

1. The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern - 4 stars
2. xxxHolic: Rei volume 1 by Clamp - 4 stars
3. In Extremis (Crime Scene Investigation 9) by Ken Goddard - 3 stars
4. The Titan's Curse (Percy Jackson 3) by Rick Riordan - 3 stars
5. Among the Nameless Stars (For Darkness Shows the Stars 0,5) by Diana Peterfreund - 3 stars

7. Glass Houses (The Morganville Vampires 1) by Rachel Caine

Also I bought two books that were on offer from the Iron Fey Series. It is book 2 and 3 in Dutch. I don't have the first book but I'm sure I'll buy it some time this year. They were not even 10 Euro for the both of them so I figured I shouldn't pass that by!

I think I might organize the book shelves again but this time on authors (alphabet) and pick out the non-fantasy/sci-fi (and such) and non-fiction.
